Indications

Read moreThis is indicated for the treatment and/or prevention of vitamin and mineral deficiencies associated with restricted diets, improper food intake, alcoholism and decreased absorption. It is also indicated in patients with increased requirements for vitamins and minerals due to acute and chronic diseases, pregnancy, lactation, menopause, infections, during treatment with antibiotics, convalescence etc. To prevent the occurrence of serious birth defects periconceptional (from three months before conception up to the first trimester of pregnancy) supplementation with this tablet is required.
Pharmacology
This is a balanced combination of multivitamin and multimineral in appropriate and required amounts to adequately replenish vitamin and mineral deficiency and to maintain the proper growth and resistance of body against diseases. Each sugar coated tablet contains: Vitamins: Vitamin A (Retinol) BP: 1.50 mg, Vitamin D USP: 10.00 �gm, Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) BP: 1.50 mg Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) BP: 1.70 mg, Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) BP: 2.00 mg, Nicotinamide BP: 20.00 mg, Cyanocobalamin USP: 6.00 �gm, Calcium pantothenate USP: 10.92 mg, Folic acid BP: 0.40 mg, Vitamin C BP: 60.00 mg, Vitamin E BP: 15.00 IU, Mineral: Ferrous Sulphate: 50.00 mg, Cupric Sulphate USP: 2.00 mg, Magnesium Sulphate USP: 1.00 mg, Zinc Sulphate USP: 37.03 mg, Potassium Iodide USP: 196.00 �gm, Potassium Sulphate BP: 11.141 mg.
Contraindications
This is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to any of its components. This is not intended for treatment of severe specific deficiencies of vitamins or minerals. It is not recommended for patients undergoing treatment with levodopa as pyridoxine decreases the efficacy of levodopa. During the first trimester of pregnancy, larger doses of vitamin A (more than 10 tablets per day) may be teratogenic.
Side Effects
Side effects have been reported with specific vitamins & minerals, but at level substantially higher than those in this tablet. Iron has been associated with gastrointestinal intolerance in some patients.
Pregnancy And Lactation
During the first trimester of pregnancy, recommended daily dose should not be exceeded. Because larger doses of Vitamin-A (multiple tablets per day) may be teratogenic.
